Not only is Stefano proficient in creating expressive tattoos, but his artistic expression also includes acrylic and oil paintings. He combines realism with emotions, and this is evident in his oil painting “El que Rie al Ultimo, Rie Mejor.” This piece reimagines Red Riding Hood as her adult self who returns to the woods donning her iconic red hood. Adult Red Riding Hood stands amidst the remnants of the burning woods while holding the pommel of her sword. Stefano’s mastery of contrast between Red’s bright hood and the comparably muted grey and brown landscape draws the viewer directly to Red Riding Hood as she confronts her past in the woods. Stefano brilliantly balances warm and cool colors to capture both storytelling and emotion. Not only does “El que Rie al Ultimo, Rie Mejor” demonstrate Stefano’s skill in oil painting, but also his artistic and thought-provoking perspective on complex figures.
Additionally, Stefano has done various murals, including one in Wynwood, Miami for Art Basel 2014. Paying homage to his Peruvian roots, he combines his classic black-and-grey realism with splashes of blues and reds. He explores cultural and urban fusion through a hyper-realistic portrait of a woman surrounded by Peruvian cultural symbols. Stefano highlights intricate details on the woman’s face. He contrasts the black-and-grey portrait of the woman with the surrounding vivid red and blue colors, giving the mural a realistic appearance. From acrylic and oil paintings to murals and tattoos, Stefano creates captivating artthat resonates with both local and global audiences.
